Das Steinbruchfestival ist ein nicht-kommerzielles, ehrenamtlich organisiertes Open-Air-Festival in Mühlheim am Main. Veranstalter ist der Kulturverein Artificial Family e.V., ein freigeistiges Kulturzentrum mit über 30 Jahren Geschichte.
Musikalisch steht das Festival für stilistische Offenheit jenseits des Mainstreams: Indie, Alternative, Punk, Reggae, Ska, Hip-Hop, Elektronik, Singer/Songwriter und angrenzende Spielarten. Wir kuratieren bewusst ein diverses Line-up aus regionalen, überregionalen und internationalen Acts und legen Wert auf künstlerisches Profil, Live-Qualität und Haltung.
Das Festival ist seit jeher niedrigschwellig, solidarisch und gemeinschaftsgetragen – mit engem Kontakt zwischen Publikum, Bands und Veranstalter.
Historie & Ort
- Seit 1993 findet das Steinbruchfestival in Mühlheim am Main statt.
- Ursprünglicher Veranstaltungsort war der Grillplatz im Naherholungsgebiet Dietesheimer Steinbrüche (auch bekannt als Grüner See).
- Seit 2008 wird das Festival auf dem benachbarten Vereinsgelände des Artificial Family e.V. am Rabenlohweg durchgeführt.
In über drei Jahrzehnten standen mehrere hundert Bands und DJs auf der Bühne. Das Festival ist fest in der regionalen Kulturlandschaft verankert und wird vollständig ehrenamtlich organisiert.

Dieser Prozess benötigt Zeit. Nach Abschluss der Sichtung melden wir uns bei den Acts, die für das jeweilige Line-up infrage kommen.

Steinbruchfestival is a non-commercial, volunteer-run open-air festival in Mühlheim am Main, Germany. It is organized by the cultural association Artificial Family e.V., an independent cultural center with more than 30 years of history.
Musically, the festival stands for stylistic openness beyond the mainstream: indie, alternative, punk, reggae, ska, hip-hop, electronic music, singer/songwriter and related genres. We deliberately curate a diverse line-up featuring regional, national and international acts, with a strong focus on artistic identity, live quality and attitude.
From the very beginning, the festival has been low-threshold, community-driven and rooted in solidarity — fostering close interaction between audience, artists and organizers.
History & Location
- Steinbruchfestival has taken place in Mühlheim am Main since 1993.
- The original venue was the public barbecue area in the recreational park Dietesheimer Steinbrüche (also known as Grüner See).
- Since 2008, the festival has been held on the neighboring grounds of Artificial Family e.V. at Rabenlohweg.
Over the course of more than three decades, several hundred bands and DJs have performed at the festival. Steinbruchfestival is firmly embedded in the regional cultural landscape and is organized entirely on a voluntary basis.

Due to the high number of submissions, we carefully review all applications and curate the program with regard to dramaturgy, stylistic diversity and the overall character of the festival. This process takes time. Once the selection phase is complete, we will get in touch with the acts that are being considered for the respective line-up.
